Welcome to the website of Krarup Skole in the heart of Funen!
The old school is located in the lovely village of Krarup to the west of the distinctive church on a hill beside the village hall see on map. The school site has an impressive history, stretching from the beginning of construction in 1805 as a public school to the present day establishment as a privately owned bed and breakfast. As well as accommodation we also offer various events throughout the year and a little shop where you can buy seasonal organic produce, which we grow naturally in the back garden.
Krarup is mentioned for the first time in 1300 in the form Krakatorp. The root ‘kraka’ means crow, with the suffix ‘-torp’, meaning settlement. (Source: Odense City Museums, Odense Central Library.)
