Location and surroundings

The house is an old school building from 1805, and is located at the western foot of the gently sloping church hill in the lovely village of Krarup with 205 inhabitants in the heart of Denmark’s third largest island Funen. The house is surrounded by a cosy garden, which our guests are welcome to use, as well as play equipment for children. You are also welcome to feed our animals, collect eggs in the henhouse and harvest fruit and vegetables by appointment.

Here in Krarup we have a lot to offer our guests, for example the playground by the school, the, Oasen (a special nature area with a playingfield, a picnic house, a fireplace, shelters and QR codes in the area that inform about the vegetation), Voldbjerg on Hundstrupvej (a small mountain that was formed by the ice age and that according to legend is inhabited by both elf girls and trolls) or the cute alpaca of Lindehuset. Krarup also has an interesting industrial history, including the machine factory, the dairy, the market garden and, last but not least, the old school. To the south there is a large woodland area with fantastic lakelandscape, perfectfor a pleasant walk, bike ride or horseback ride.

Krarup belongs to the northernmost part of the South Funen area, which is an approximately 15 km wide strip along the south coast of Funen between Faaborg and Lundeborg. To the south lies the South Funen Archipelago with its 55 islands and islets. The area is particularly well known for its many beautiful castles and manor houses, set in a unique cultural landscape and beautiful scenery.
